My thoughts and comments on my second trip through Chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.
August 8, 2007

Tomorrow I go in for extra chemo to finish up my 2nd round.  I expect that will fuel up my side effects and I'm worried about that.  I was so hoping that by now I would be over the side effects from the chemo last week.  For one or two of the symptoms to be gone by now would have been nice.  But that isn't happening.  Each morning I wake up in hope that I'll feel better than I did the day before, but my hopes are dashed within an hour.  Today is the same old story.  It's hard dealing with being nauseated and tired and having a constant headache.  The headache is the toughest to deal with.  It's really bad right after a chemo treatment and lessens a little in the days that follow, but can become bad again even then.  The headache is a side effect of the topotecan chemo which I get every 2 of 3 weeks.  Yeah, that's a lot of topotecan so I'm reconciled to the fact that I'll just have to deal with a constant headache.  Alleve or any of the other pain relievers are just pieces of candy when it comes to my headache ---it doesn't do anything.  Is anyone else dealing with a topo headache and found anything that works?
